Bars
Challenge: This homeowner was looking to install a full wet bar in the limited transition space between her formal dining room and living room. She wanted to match the home’s existing interior design, and use a minimal amount of space.
Solution: Jim designed an efficient and functional bar that incorporated a small peninsula that worked to suggest a traffic flow around the bar, not through it. The bar features solid granite countertops and custom cabinets using the same caramel strained cherry treatment found in the owner’s existing kitchen. The upper cabinets feature a custom wine rack and stemware holder. The recessed upper cabinets offers a three-dimensional back wall; a refreshing alternative to traditional construction.
Result: The bar provided elegant functionality without upsetting traffic flow from dining room to living room. The cabinets precisely matched the home’s existing interior. The homeowner was delighted.
